This very short, sweet, simple tutorial will let you access single user mode
which will let you run /sbin/fsck -fy without your osx disk! Even with a password.

sudo nvram boot-args=-s

this  will add a string to your firmware that sets osx to single user mode.

sudo  nvram boot-args=

This will remove it. These are the only two commands you will need and for fuck’s sake,
write down the second one or you’ll be shit up the creek without a paddle when you reboot
from this blog and forget how to change it back and can’t get here to find out.

Autism is not a bad thing.

200 years ago, 500 years ago, People were simply expected to be good at raising a family and defending it, something that probably 90% of autistics understand. Let us be aware that autism is not inherently a bad thing.

Albert Einstien was autistic and his legacy pervades today. Sometimes, having a mind that cannot think in terms of it’s relationship with “life” gives it the freedom to think in terms of the “universe”,to think in terms that reach beyond “self” and “now”.

However, this gene present in our ancestors that caused some of us to be skilled in an supernatural level of contemplation and some in instinctive negotiation has been amplified into a flaw by today’s over-educated society. We compete with each other now and he who can evolve the most effective strategy for influencing his competition is the victor. These abilities are useless. I feel as if I am a supercomputer among sheep. I do not speak sheep, and they do not speak computer.

Physical retardation, damaged nerve cells in the brain, over-medicated mothers and children riddled with artificial hormones from before birth… these things DO cause or amplify autism into a very real retardation, a complete inability to think logically and consistently with any timeline or frame of existence. We do not have all the answers, but I suspect that this is because there are too many answers to one problem to see them all in one place. Except mcdonald’s. Let’s blame them. I can practically hear the inhuman screams coming from my mchicken right now.

HOWTO recover from VISTAGLAZZ crash

I’m assuming you are running windows 7 or vista and have installed vistaglazz 1, 1.5, or 2, and are encountering issues on reboot. Such as the system never finishing booting up, constantly rebooting, and so on are the subject of this post. Since you can’t log in to fix the files without running vistaglazz, and you can’t do that in safe mode, your only solution is to manually replace the files. Fortunantly, vistaglazz uses a tried and true copy-backup-replace-original method to updating the binaries that it modifies in windows.

Step One: Open safe mode, or another OS, and navigate to the Windows/System32 folder of your broken installation.
Step Two: Find the files marked

C:\Windows\System32\shsvcs.dll.vgorg
C:\Windows\System32\themeui.dll.vgorg
C:\Windows\System32\uxtheme.dll.vgorg
or similar extensions  and dll’s.
Delete the original dlls, remove the .vgorg extension from the DLL’s, and reboot. Your windows installation will be as good as new.

The recommended tried and true patch for enabling custom themes on windows 7, vista, xp, and any and all other windows operating systems is the UXtheme styler located at http://www.uxstyle.com/
No more manual patches or dll replacements needed, this program will install a simple windows service to keep all needed binary blobs updated with the exact bits needed to enable custom themes.
